Herman Marais (non-executive director)
Herman is a businessman with twenty years of experience in investment services, business performance improvement and integrated development. He is a former partner of the international Deloitte corporate consultancy and has interests in an investment services firm as well as in a private equity fund investing in Sub-Sahara Africa. A considerable part of his career has focused on the application of business oriented solutions to development challenges. He has served as director of several companies and has worked on mandates from blue chip financial and commercial groups as well as development finance institutions. In the not-for-profit sector, he is known for his organisational and management development work with higher education institutions. Working from London and Cape Town, he travels Sub-Sahara Africa extensively in the course of his business activities.
